Summer Maker Mondays: 3D Printer and CAD MakerLab

Use the library's computers and free CAD software to design, modify or download a 3-D model and print using our MakerBot 3D Printer.

Curious about what a 3D printer is? Stop by one of our MakerLabs, see it in action and ask the librarian questions. 

Particanpts will progress through the labs at their own pace.

Space is limited. To participate in the MakerLab, you should be between 10-18 years old. If you want to use the 3D printer or the CAD software, please sign up in advance. If you cannot make it, please call Gail 1t 352-0157.

1st Makerlab: Duplicate
You will learn to search Thingiverse for a cool object, download and use Makerware software to adjust the object. And go home with a 3D printed object! 

2nd Makerlab: Design
Using Tinkercad.com, you will create a basic design, download and use Makerware software manipulate the size and specs of the object and finally print it!

The Keene Public Library is proud to be one of the 34 Maker Corps Host Sites during the Summer of 2014. The Maker Corps program was created by the Maker Education Initiative as a national commitment to connect makers like me to community-serving institutions who need qualified and motivated people to expand their capabilities. The Maker Corps program is intended to expand the capabilities of local community education institutions to help them implement new maker-oriented activities.
